Admission to the Sunnyside Primary Academy

 

   

We are delighted that you are considering Sunnyside Primary Academy for the next step in your child's education.

Sunnyside Primary Academy provides an education for children within the 4 to 11 age range who live in Kingsthorpe and the surrounding area.

Pupils will be admitted at the age of 4+ without reference to ability or aptitude using the criteria set out in this policy. Admission to our Academy is not dependent on any ‘voluntary’ contribution.

Admissions Numbers

We have 60 places in our Reception Year, if we are oversubscribed, places will be allocated in accordance with our Admissions Policy for 2024 which can be found at the bottom of this page.

For admissions, to Reception, for September 2024 parents should apply using the Northamptonshire County Council’s Admissions process. Application forms must be submitted by midnight on 15 January 2024 and parents applying by this deadline will find out which school their child has been offered a place on National Offer Day (16 April 2024).

Parents have the right of appeal to an Independent Appeals Panel if their application is unsuccessful relating to admissions at age 5 (statutory school age) or above.  Appeals should be made within twenty (20) school days of the date of the refusal to:

Please be aware that the regulations under Section I of the School Standards and Framework Act 1998 limit the size of an infant class (a class in which the majority of children will reach the age of 5, 6 or 7 during the school year) to 30 pupils per class teacher. Admissions over this limit are only permitted in very limited circumstances.
